Marc-Reiner Schmidt Looking Forward to his First Visit to the ACU British Supermoto Championship

With just over three weeks to go until round five of The ACU British Supermoto Championship guest rider Marc-Reiner Schmidt is looking forward to his trip over to the UK.

Competing this weekend in the first round of the FIM World Supermoto Championship the German rider will be hoping to take the podium at the Grand Prix of Abruzzo, Orotona Italy aboard his Phoenix Racing TM.

From early form in the Italian Supermoto Championship rounds, there is no doubt that he will be pushing multi–World Champion Thomas Chareyre hard to claim the 2021 title.

Not only will Schmidt be joining the ACU British Supermoto Championship for round five, he will be running a training masterclass on the Friday before the event for a group of riders who have booked tuition.

This is the first time for many years that the British Championship has been graced with a rider who regularly competes on the World circuit and in doing so brings an added dimension to the competitiveness for all the riders. For sure this will be one of the highlights of the season for many.

Speaking to Marc- Reiner Schmidt he commented:

"I ‘m really happy to come over to the UK for the first time.! I cannot wait for it……It’s for sure going to be an amazing Experience!

I will spend few days in London then on the Friday before the Championship Jay Smith has organised a training school, where I will teach and help some riders improve their techniques. And finally on Saturday and Sunday I will compete in the British championship!

It is an honour to come to the UK, meet some guys and spend a nice time there."

There is no doubt that all contenders and the Championship alike welcome Marc-Reiner Schmidt to the paddock and we hope that this will not be the only visit of the 2021 season.

Round five is on the weekend of the 17th – 18th July and ‘Live Feeds’ will be broadcast of all the main A seeded races on the Sunday.
